Finally! A DevBlog about something in Announcements & Events
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=586654&
I'm glad to see CCP taking steps towards greater transparency. Deep down, under all the trolling and whining and bitching, most of the community here is genuinely interested in making DUST 514 a success. We all want to see CCP succeed in this undertaking.
As beta testers all we can do is offer our feedback on the forums and wait for the issue to be reworked or fixed. It's frustrating however to see the same problems posted over and over with almost no feedback as to what is or is not being addressed. We should never have the feeling that the work we are putting into helping CCP make a greater game is in vain.
TBH, the management of our expectations and involvement of the community with the Devs current progress/plans has been poor.
I don't mind having to wait for the new build. I don't mind not having new content for extended periods of time. I don't mind that some weapons, skills, equipment, etc. are broken. That said, I think it is completely unacceptable that we are left in the dark with no real clue as to the current level of progress on these issues. Where is the bug tracking? Where are the progress reports? The only feedback we really get is, "x issue is being looked at." I find this pretty disheartening.
A little more involvement from the Devs would go a long way to keeping everyone happy instead of fueling the flamewar, QQ, cesspit the forums more often than not are.
My take home point from all this is that many of us are not just grinding ISK and SP; we are grinding to shape this game into a better experience. Not seeing any rewards for our efforts is painful. Every bad review, every new player who ***** up the forums or local hurts a little more every time, and worse we could easily avoid this problem if we had ammunition to fire back; "Actually, idiot, x is this far long. Stop QQ." or "CCPwhoever said x,y,z are done and waiting to be deployed" rather than simply Soon.
Thanks CCP, glad to see you're taking steps in the right direction |
